After all river crossings in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor were closed to the movement of people to move between the areas under the control of the Assad regime and SDF, a new crossing was recently opened linking the towns of Zaghir Jazira and Zaghir Shamiya, west of Deir Ezzor, according to a DeirEzzor24 network correspondent reported.
Our reporter said that the cost of crossing from the new crossing is double, amounting to 40 thousand Syrian pounds per passenger. It is also described as cumbersome and long, and requires a long distance to reach it on foot.
The closed crossings (Al-Daraj, Al-Rumaila, Al-Hassan and Al-Sheikh) were all closed by the SDF as a result of the dispute over the smuggling crossings between the people and the tribal sheikhs
