Deir Ezzor 24 exclusive:

The third sector, which is considered the largest irrigation project in Deir Ezzor, became unusable and was responsible for irrigating 11,000 hectares of lands extending from the town of Al-Marayyia to the town of Boqrus.

Its exit from service is due to the drop in the water level of the Euphrates River to a limit of one meter, which caused the suspension of all pumping engines, as it is not possible to benefit from the length of the metal intake pipes, as the project is fed through a tongue of concrete in the form of a box ferry of 850 meters in length, whose mission is to transport Euphrates water for the project’s pickpocket basins.
