Assad’s forces arrested a number of young men who were displaced from the SDF areas in Deir Ezzor because of the recent fighting, according to a local reporter of DeirEzzor24.

According to the reporter, the young men were arrested by the State Security Branch and were taken to the branch’s headquarters in Al-Vilat neighborhood in the city of Deir Ezzor. They all come from the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

He added that they were arrested on charges of affiliation with the FSA in the early years of the revolution.


In recent days, the cities and villages of the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor witnessed the displacement of hundreds of people from areas controlled by the SDF to areas controlled by the Assad regime in Deir Ezzor, as a result of the battles that took place in the region between the SDF and tribal fighters.
