From the city of Al-Quria, east of Deir Ezzor, to the podiums in Europe, the young Syrian boxer Osaid Al-Abd Al-Okla continues to make his way in the world of boxing, and in an exclusive interview with the Deir Ezzor – 24 network, he talks about his sporting beginnings and his most prominent achievements.

First, introduce yourself and your sports career.

I am Osaid Al-Abd Al-Okla, born in 2008, and have lived in Germany since 2015. I started practicing boxing in 2022, and since then I have been working to develop my level and achieve accomplishments in the tournaments in which I participate.

How did you start in boxing, and when did you start to feel capable of achieving great accomplishments?

I started practicing boxing in 2022, and since then I have continued training and participating in tournaments, and I was keen to develop my abilities and improve my level. Thank God, during this period I was able to achieve more than 30 wins, and compete in different tournaments, even though I faced opponents who were older and larger than me.

You recently achieved a new accomplishment in the Netherlands. Tell us about the details of this win?

Thank God, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, I was able to win the championship belt «golden square» held in the Netherlands, in the heavyweight competitions weighing 94 kilograms, this victory means a lot to me, because it is added to the achievements I have achieved during my sports career, and gives me greater motivation to continue and achieve more successes.

At whose expense did you achieve this victory, and what distinguished the last confrontation?

I achieved victory over a German boxer named Alex, and this was his first loss in his career, and thank God, I was able to win the confrontation and win the belt, and I consider this achievement an important milestone in my sports career.

This is not the first belt you have achieved, so what are the most prominent titles you have won so far?

I achieved three belts during my sports career:

– North Rhine-Westphalia belt in Germany.

– Europe Under 21 Belt.

– European Heavyweight Championship belt, which I won in the Netherlands on October 17, 2026.

You mentioned that you have achieved many sporting achievements, how do you evaluate this career?

Thank God, I have won more than 30 times, and I participated in tournaments where I faced opponents older than me in age and size, and I was able to achieve victory. These experiences taught me a lot, increased my experience and self-confidence, and emphasized to me the importance of continuing to train and work hard to achieve goals.

Every time you achieve an accomplishment, you make sure to dedicate it to the martyrs of the Syrian revolution. Why is this dedication?

In all my successes and victories, I dedicate my victory to the martyrs of the Syrian revolution. This is the least I can offer in loyalty to their sacrifices, as they are the ones who have done me a favor. I hope that my achievements will be a source of pride for my countrymen, and that I will always be able to provide what is worthy of Syria and its people.

You have lived in Germany since 2015, and hold German citizenship, but you aspire to represent Syria. Tell us about this aspect of your career?

True, I have been living in Germany since 2015, and I hold German citizenship. There is pressure on me to play for Germany, but my ambition is to represent my country, Syria, and raise its flag in European and international championships. I hope to have the opportunity to achieve this dream, and to be able to participate on behalf of my country in sports forums.

Here, I appeal to the Ministry of Sports and Youth in Syria, and to the relevant authorities, to pay attention to Syrian athletes residing in Europe, follow up on their achievements, and provide them with the necessary support, so that they can represent their country in various tournaments.

There are Syrian talents achieving important results and accomplishments abroad, and it is essential to pay attention to them and communicate with them, because these athletes are capable of raising Syria’s name in international forums, but they need support, attention, and the opportunity to represent their country.

Personally, I hope to have the opportunity to represent Syria and raise its flag high on the podium, instead of having to compete on behalf of Germany.

Finally, what are your future ambitions?

My ambition is to continue achieving victories and titles, to develop my boxing level, to participate in bigger championships, and most importantly for me, to have the opportunity to represent Syria and raise its flag in European and international forums, and for all my achievements to be a source of pride for my family and my countrymen.
