A joint patrol from the Protection Division and the Ayash Forest Outpost , both affiliated with the Directorate of State Property Authority, Forestry Department , confiscated various quantities of green forest wood on the morning of Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the Al-Shmeitiya area, in front of one of the sawmills, according to a report by Deir Ezzor 24 Network’s correspondent.
Our correspondent stated that during the operation, a legal report was filed against the owner of the facility for violating the provisions of the Forestry Law, after he was caught storing and trading forest materials and products without obtaining the required license. The confiscated wood was transported by a truck belonging to the Directorate of Agriculture, while the case file was referred to the competent judiciary to complete the legal procedures.
For his part, the Director of the State Property Protection Branch in Deir Ezzor, Engineer Mohammad Al-Omair, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Director of Agriculture, Dr. Ali Alloush, for his cooperation and logistical support to the forestry enforcement officers , including providing a vehicle to transport personnel upon request and supplying equipment to carry the seized wood.
Al-Omair also praised the efforts of the forestry enforcement officers who managed to detect the violation, confiscate the wood, and file the report in accordance with the law. He emphasized that such measures aim to reinforce the rule of law, protect vegetation cover, and preserve natural resources for future generations.
In conclusion, Al-Omair called on all citizens to cooperate with the relevant authorities and report any forestry violations or abuses, stressing that protecting forests is a shared national responsibility that requires awareness and collective effort from everyone.
