A meeting was held in Deir Ezzor in the presence of Yasser Abbosh, and with the participation of the Directorate of Agriculture and International Cooperation and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, to discuss the mechanism for distributing seed and fertilizer grants for the summer season, in addition to the feed grant provided to farmers.

During the meeting, the “FAO” organization announced the provision of a grant that includes seeds and fertilizers to a number of villages in Deir Ezzor  countryside, namely: Al-Sowar, Al-Busayra, Theban, and Khesham, with the aim of supporting the agricultural sector and improving production during the summer season.

It was agreed to form local committees in the targeted villages, consisting of five members: the governor , the head of the agricultural association, the head of the guidance unit, the village mayor, in addition to one of the village notables, provided that these committees are responsible for registering the names of applicants to benefit from the grants.

According to what was agreed upon, the committees will submit the names of those who meet the conditions to the “FAO” organization, which in turn will audit the applications and select the final beneficiaries from each village according to the criteria approved by it.
