The SDF has launched a military campaign under the banner ‘The Jazzera Storm’ aimed at capturing the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzour and the remaining areas in the Jazzera area that are still under Daesh control.
This was mentioned in a statement released by the SDF-aligned Deir Ezzor Military Council, which is led by ‘Ahmed Abu Khawla’. The statement reads, ‘ We give good tidings by launcing the Jazeera Storm Operation that is aimed at liberating areas in the Syrian Jazeera that are controlled by Daesh and clearing the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor as well.’
The statement indicated that, ‘ the Deir Ezzor Military Council has decided to launch this decisive campaign for our brothers s and sisters in Al-Raqqa and the Jazzera areas and the eastern countryside, who have been waiting for this crucial moment for quite a long time.’
The council also appealed to civilians to stay away from military targets such as headquarters and barracks for their safety reasons.
The Coalition is backing the SDF who has managed to captured large swaths of lands in Syria.
