DeirEzzor24 network correspondent said that the Fifth Corps of the Russian forces handed over to its members in Deir Ezzor this month fake dollars that had been “frozen” for nearly a week.
Our correspondent added that the officers received $100 for each member after recently decreasing the monthly wage by $50. The officers were surprised when the exchange shops refused to exchange these dollars under the pretext that they were forged and “frozen” while some of the officers were able to exchange them for Syrian pounds in shops that buy dollars surreptitiously.
The Russian forces recently distributed expired food aid in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, as documented by the DeirEzzor24 network.
