The Russian general and Syrian officers visited the new dirt bridge that connects the Jazira countryside to the city of Deir Ezzor, with the aim of checking the bridge, after there were reports of collapses in it because of the primitive method in which it was constructed..The Russian forces rejected the method, and the Fourth Division ignored it with the support of the Iranian militias.

Not long after the dirt bridge entered service, parts of it collapsed, due to the poor construction, the lack of physical studies and the necessary engineering consultancy, and the failure to observe the course of the river and its flood.
