Minister of Health Dr. Musab Al-Ali announced the start of rehabilitation and maintenance work on the old National Hospital in Raqqa, starting next week, in preparation for its return to service with a capacity of up to 280 beds.
The announcement came during Al-Ali’s meeting with the Deputy Governor of Raqqa, Muhammad Al-Hamidi, the Director of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamoud, and a number of medical and health cadres, where the reality of the health sector in the governorate and its needs were discussed, and ways to develop the medical services provided to citizens were discussed.
Al-Ali stressed the importance of activating health centers and enhancing their role in providing medical services, which contributes to relieving pressure on hospitals and improving the level of health care.
He also stressed the need to enhance coordination and collective work between the concerned authorities, and to adhere to the controls and standards regulating health work, in order to ensure the provision of medical services that respond to the needs of citizens.
The Minister of Health listened to the points of views of workers in the health sector, and answered their inquiries and suggestions related to developing work and improving health services in the governorate.
