The Raqqa Health Directorate denied the news circulating about the closure of the child malnutrition treatment department, stressing the continued provision of treatment services with the same efficiency and capacity, and with the support of MSF (Doctors Without Borders) agency.
The Directorate explained that the department was transferred from the National Hospital in Raqqa to the neighboring Specialized Children’s Hospital, where a ward was allocated within the hospital, with the aim of making optimal use of the available spaces and facilitating the provision of therapeutic services to children.
The Directorate confirmed the continuation of the program to treat malnutrition in children under the supervision of Dr. Kawthar Al-Khalil, with the participation of the specialized team, and with the same support from MSF.
The Directorate added that the Health Directorate opened ten specialized centers to treat malnutrition among children within ten clinics, with the aim of expanding the scope of health services and reaching cases that need care and treatment.
