From her small kitchen in Deir Ezzor, Israa transformed from a housewife into a professional cake maker. Her passion for baking and designing creative cakes of various sizes led her to create her first project, “Cake Recipes,” which made her dream of achieving international fame.
Israa told DeirEzzor24:
“I didn’t know much about cake making, but I started learning it on YouTube, then enrolled in specialized baking courses. Every day I learn something new and try to apply it to my work.”
She added: “The journey wasn’t easy, especially when I received my first order to make a huge five-tiered cake. It was an experience that strengthened my passion after I was amazed by the result.”
She continues: “I was afraid that the shape and design of the cake wouldn’t match what I was asked for, or that it would be distorted. But when I saw the result, I was very happy and my self-confidence increased.”
Israa is a mother of three girls and a boy and a graduate of a computer institute. However, her passion for making cakes has helped her balance all these responsibilities to achieve her dream of success. She adds: “I want to send a message to every woman with a dream, abilities, and skills, that she is capable of achieving the success she desires, and even more. Deir Ezzor Governorate, both rural and urban, is home to creative people who deserve to be heard about by the entire world.”
She concluded by saying: “If we have the will, we are capable of achieving our dreams, even if we start from scratch.”
Deir Ezzor Governorate boasts numerous stories of women and young women who are innovating in small, entrepreneurial projects, ranging from bouquet design, painting, knitting, sewing, and confectionery, contributing to the region’s economy and stimulating the market.
