ISIS commander Abu Omar Shishani has been heavily wounded in a US airstrike and he is currently receiving treatment for his injury in one of the hospitals in east Deir Ezzor countryside, private sources told D24.

The same sources denied rumors of his death.


Tarkhan Batirashvili, who goes by the nom de guerre Abu Omar al-Shishani, is a high-ranking ISIS commander; he is regarded as minister of war.



It is worth to note that Abu Omar al-Shishani was wounded in a Coalition air strike on Shaddadi town, located between Hasakah and Deir Ezzor provinces, over the past few days. Certain media outlets announced his death following the airstrike; however, sources close to the group have also denied the reports.
