The Iranian militias prevented international organizations from rehabilitating the Omal neighborhood in the city of Deir Ezzor or even providing it with some basic services, including street lighting, according to a local reporter of the DeirEzzor24 network.
According to the reporter, the militias did not allow the rehabilitation because they have established several military sites and headquarters in the neighborhood, and they fear that if the streets are lit and services are restored, the residents will return to their homes and those sites will be exposed.
Iranian militias are establishing a tight security cordon in the neighborhoods of the cities in Deir Ezzor where their military headquarters are established.
