In co-operation with The Martyr Ahmed Abdou Battalion and other FSA factions, Assud Al-Sharqiya repulsed a new Daesh attack on the mountains in eastern Qalamoun, inflicting massive casualties upon the organization.
A military source affiliated with Assud Al-Sharqiya indicated to D24 today that, “For five days, Daesh has been attempting to advance against the FSA-controlled territory in eastern Qalamoun, targeting their outposts and barracks with several VBIEDs.”
He added, “Jaysh Assud Al-Sharqiya and other factions managed to repel the new attack, preventing Daesh from advancing on all the fronts, killing more than 15 Daesh fighters and capturing amounts of weaponry and ammo.”
The organization has brought several of its military vehicles and fighters from Raqqa to areas in eastern Qalamon in an attempt to take control over the region because of its strategic significance.
