Several civilians were killed and injured on Friday due to the explosion of a VBIED on the outskirts of Al Bassirah city, the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

A D24 correspondent said that a Daesh sucide fighter drove his VBIED into the entrance of Al-Bassirah city near the water plant, and detonated it after being targeted by SDF fighters. He added that the VBIED attack killed three SDF fighters, including two commanders, and six civilians.

SDF have cordoned off the area and set up several checkpoints at the exits and entrances to the town.
