After facing a power cut for more than a year, electricity supplies returned to the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. This was made possible due to the transmission of electricity from the Euphrates dam to villages in the western countryside by Daesh. The organization electricity maintenance workers fixed the electric posts which fell on the ground due to clashes and storms, and extended the lines that transmit electricity to the western countryside, with a voltage reaching 180 in every home.
A month ago, the group cut off the electricity supplies in the western countryside on the pretense that the power was insufficient to cover all areas under its control, excluding Raqqa from this decision.
Before the return of electricity to the western countryside, civilians relied on electricity generators which are controlled by people linked to the organization who sell electricity at extremely high prices.
