The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Deir Ezzor has withdrawn samples of various bottled water brands from local markets, following citizen complaints regarding quality concerns.

According to officials, the samples underwent bacteriological testing at specialized laboratories affiliated with the city’s Water Authority. The test results revealed that two popular brands — Barada and Al-Kawthar — failed to meet safety standards and were deemed unfit for human consumption.

Authorities have since banned the circulation of the contaminated products and initiated legal proceedings against the responsible parties.

The Directorate emphasized its commitment to public health and announced that strict measures will be taken against any entities found complicit in distributing unsafe products. Citizens are urged to report any violations to help safeguard consumer safety.
