A Syrian refugee camp in the Turkish province of Adana was burned and destroyed a little while ago. It is home to more than 5 thousand refugees, mainly displaced families from Deir Ezzor province.

The head of the camp, Al-Mukhtar, has been involved in corruption which led the residents of the camp to complain about him for many times. Al-Mukhtar, also known as Haj Hussein, has been proven guilty of corruption for several times, but the Turkish authority never held him accountable. Among some of his illegal action was that he would take 20 Turkish liras from every refugee to provide some basic services.

The Turkish authority had removed all security cameras in that camp before it was burned and destroyed today. According to reports, Al-Mukhtar was planning to take revenge on the residents because ‘they are always complaining and making troubles.’
