Despite the difficult circumstances and challenges facing the educational process, students at Al-Attal School in the city ofAl-Shehail in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor continue their academic year, insisting on continuing their education, amid the efforts of the educational staff to provide the minimum components of the educational process.
The school suffers from a clear deterioration in construction and grades, in addition to a severe shortage of basic equipment and supplies, which poses additional challenges to students and educational staff, and affects the provision of a safe and appropriate educational environment.
Residents point out that some students are forced to sit on the floor during lessons, in light of the lack of school chairs, educational boards, and other necessary supplies, which increases the difficulty of educational conditions inside the school.
As winter approaches, parents’ fears of worsening school conditions are increasing, calling on the concerned authorities, humanitarian organizations and supporting bodies to intervene urgently and work to restore the building, rehabilitate the classrooms, and maintain the necessary seats, equipment and educational means.
Parents hope that responding to these needs will contribute to providing a safe and decent educational environment that allows students to continue their education and preserves their basic right to learning, despite the existing circumstances and challenges.
