Deash released a new propaganda video two days ago in which it executed in cold blood three young men from the countryside of Deir Ezzor under charges of spying for Nusra Front and manufacturing as well as planting IEDs in Deash-linked cars in the province. The new execution video, which is titled “The Big losers”, is meant to discredit and defame all of the Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and the FSA, accusing all of them of apostasy and cooperation with what the group described as “the crusaders”.

Two youngsters from the city of Albu Kamal whereas the third is from al-Joura neighborhood of Deir Ezzor city; all of them were the victims in the new Daesh’s video release.

The execution was confirmed to have been carried out in the town of al-Shaheel, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside, which was once the main stronghold for Nusra Front in the eastern region of Syria. Choosing a town like al-Shaheel to execute three youngsters accused of being Nusra affiliates is not a random choice by the group. By carrying out the execution in al-Shaheel, Daesh’s intention was to deliver a powerful message to its Jihadist rival of Nusra.

Abu Taqi al-Shami, a Daesh commander, appeared at the beginning of the video, praising the organization because, according to him, it is an “Islamic State”. He recited few lines of poetry along with some verses from the Quran to show and demonstrate his loyalty to the extremist group of Daesh. He is originally from the city of al-Myadeen, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside. His real name is Youssef al-Marhon Abu Hayel. He was one of the most notable leaders of al-Baath party in the city of al-Mayadeen until 2013. Al-Marhoon was known for his committed love for the Baath party and Hafed al Assad; and he worked also as a spy for the regime intelligence during the beginning of the Syrian revolution.

Al-Mahroon who has a very close relationship with Saddam al-Jamal, who is a top Daesh commander from Deir Ezzor, was appointed as Ameer for the area of al-Qaem in Iraq. Civilians in Deir Ezzor have noticed no change in his personality except that he is now bearded and promoting Daesh’s extremist Islamic ideology, instead of doing propaganda for al-Baath party and shouting pro-Hafed al Assad slogans like he did in the past. He has close ties with the Assad-regime intelligence officers, among them Abu Rami al-Zabrawi who was the head of the regime security branch in the city of al-Myadeen. In addition to his relations with his Baathist comrades in Deir Ezzor, Damascus and other cities in Syria.

Those interested in knowing what the so-called “Islamic State” is has to study the history of its ameers (leaders) in Deir Ezzor. Maybe Al-Marhoon is one of the compelling proofs that it is nothing but a state established by the Assad-regime in both Iraq and Syria.
