The Minister of Internal Trade in al-Assad’s government announced the government’s intention to set up a new support mechanism by transferring it to a financial mass that is charged as a balance on smart cards, according to loyalist media.
According to the announcement, the 4 million smart cards in the country allow citizens to buy whatever they want from consumer institutions.
The consumer institutions are already empty of basic materials (sugar, tea, oil), which will be removed from subsidies and sold at the market price.
