ISIS has recently handed over the body of a civilian named Imad Awda al Dahash from Albu Kamal to his family after he was detained and then tortured to death in an ISIS-run prison in Deir Ezzor one month ago.Imad was arrested by ISIS’ religious police (Hisba) after he had refused to close his shop during prayer time.It should be noted that Imad is an unarmed civilian and he is not affiliated with any former Deir Ezzo’s factions. The only reason he was detained is after his shop stayed open during prayer time.
On the other hand, the number of people who have been brutally tortured to death in ISIS-run prisons in Deir Ezzor province, has exceeded hundreds of people according to leaked info and lists published by ISIS itself.
