The spread of drugs in the countryside of Deir Ezzor

DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:

The western countryside of Al-Jazeera in Deir Ezzor province witnessed a boom in drugs recently, as it was clearly noted that they are widespread and abused among the youth of the region.

These drugs arrive through Iranian supplies west of the Euphrates. They enter through merchants of river crossings and oil tanks belonging to the Qaterji militia, under the supervision of the National Defense Militia, while the SDF is unable to limit its spread and prevent its access to the region. It has become publicly spread and available in a number of countries. From pharmacies, shops, and cafés in the rural towns of Deir Ezzor, some corrupt commanders of the SDF contribute to their spread in agreement with influential figures who wear the cloak of clans.

Tramadol, baltan and hashish pills top the list of the most frequently traded among the people of the region, and are openly sold in the town of Al-Hussan. They call them ice as a form of camouflage, and it is known that “ice” is iced juice inside a nylon bag, found in refrigerators and shops.

Observers attribute the reasons for the spread of narcotics to the complicity of SDF commanders and their lack of seriousness in controlling the region in several respects.
