DeirEzzor24 network correspondent said that Fadi Al-Afis, one of the influential people in the areas controlled by the Assad regime, is resorting to a new type of smuggling.
He added that the new smuggling method adopted by “Al-Afees” is based on smuggling oil through 70-liter plastic containers, by floating them across the Euphrates River without cutting them to the opposite bank, where the containers are tied and collected with ropes to float across the river without cost or trouble, and they are received in Al-Husseiniyah town for the benefit of the “Al-Afis” militia, whose oil smuggling amount exceeds 200 barrels per day.
“Al-Afis” is the leader of an armed group, and works in smuggling between the two towns of Al-Husseiniya, which are under the control of the Assad regime, and the town of Al-Jia’a, which is under the control of the SDF.
