DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:

Yesterday, the military security of Assad’s forces arrested Fadi Afis, along with an officer in the Republican Guard forces and some members in the city of Deir Ezzor.

Our reporter said that the arrest of Al-Afees and the officer came on charges of smuggling and stealing the contents of the paper mill in Deir Ezzor, after a truck was confiscated and the driver confessed that the truck belonged to Al-Afees.

“Al-Afees” is considered one of the most popular smugglers between the areas controlled by Assad’s forces and the Iranian militias and the areas controlled by the SDF. He comes from the town of Al-Husseiniyah in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. He is a group commander with one of the Iranian militias in Deir Ezzor, and receives his support from them.
