Work has begun on laying a new asphalt layer at the entrance of the city of Deir Ezzor, on the section extending from the Panorama area to the Dallah Roundabout, under the direct supervision of the Deir Ezzor Governorate and carried out by Al-Sharq Company.

The road-paving works come as part of the “Deir al-‘Izz” campaign, and include the removal of the old asphalt layer in preparation for laying the new one, within the framework of improving road conditions and facilitating traffic flow at one of the city’s most important entrances.

Mohammad Al-Ali, a resident of Deir Ezzor, stressed the need to begin by rehabilitating the main roads inside the city before moving to its entrances, noting that many of these roads turn into puddles and muddy spots with the onset of winter, increasing the suffering of residents and making movement more difficult.

Several drivers also confirmed that the paving works should extend to cover the entire road connecting Deir Ezzor and the Al-Sukhna area east of Homs, due to its deterioration and the abundance of potholes and bumps that lead to frequent traffic accidents.
