SDF have carried out many human rights violations against people residing in the countryside of Deir Ezzor. The local populations have expressed dissatisfaction with SDF rule and policies and compared them to the polices of Assad’s forces in their controlled territory of Dier Ezzor.

SDF have tightened their security measures in their held areas in the countryside of Deir Ezzor over the past few months. Their practices and policies have surpassed those practiced and imposed by Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor. SDF are highly monitoring internet cafés in most villages and towns, bearing in mind that they have restricted the use of net to internet cafés.

The monitoring of internet cafés cannot be compared to other violations, mainly the arrest of civilians and humiliating them on alleged charge of affiliation with Daesh. Most of the arrested are tortured on charge of affiliation with Daesh without trial.

Today, SDF cordoned off Abu Naytal village, in northern Deir Ezzor, in the morning, after whih a massive number of SDF fighters stormed the village while firing intense fire. In the evening, SDF arrested several civilians in Ruwashid town, the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The reasons behind the arbitrary arrest and the tightening of security measures are rotted in the heavy casualties SDF suffered the past two days following a series of Daesh attacks and other operations which were carried out by unknown gunmen in rural Deir Ezzor
