Yesterday, a meeting was held in the town of Hatla, northeast of Deir Ezzor, which included a number of local militia leaders in the ranks of the Assad regime, Russian officers and clan dignitaries, according to what the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network reported.
He said that the reason for the meeting was to discuss the mechanism of opening the Salhia crossing north of Deir Ezzor, and to discuss some related security problems in the region.
The Russian forces have absolute control over the villages and towns in northern Deir Ezzor, and the Salihiya land crossing, which connects with the SDF-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor.
