The Al-Hawiqa neighborhood in the city of Deir Ezzor has recently witnessed the return of dozens of families, coinciding with the start of home and residential building renovations by the residents themselves, according to observations by the DeirEzzor24 network.
Our reporter reported that dozens of families have begun rebuilding residential structures on one hand, and repairing damaged homes on the other.
Issa Al-Dahmoush, one of the residents of Al-Hawiqa, confirmed that most of the families who have returned to the neighborhood had been displaced to northern Syria, with some in the Raqqa and Hasakah provinces, and have recently gone back to Al-Hawiqa.
He also stated that tens of families have started to rehabilitate and renovate their damaged houses in order to liberate themselves from the burden of high prices of rent costs in order to go back to them once again.
The residents of Al-Hawiqa are demanding the relevant authorities to repair the neighborhood’s infrastructure, including electricity, water networks, and sewage systems in order to encourage more families to return.
