Technical workshops at the General Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater in Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with CARE, continue to carry out rehabilitation work on the Marrat water station in the northeastern countryside of the governorate, with the aim of restarting the station and pumping water to about 21,000 people in the town.
The project’s work includes rehabilitating a water sedimentation basin with a capacity of 120 cubic meters, five filtration filters, constructing a metal tank with a capacity of 60 cubic meters, in addition to installing pumps to extract raw water and pumps for clear water, with a pumping capacity of 160 cubic meters per hour for each.
The works also include equipping electrical control panels, rehabilitating the electricity generator, carrying out civil and construction works, extending a water network within the town with a length of 4.6 kilometers, in addition to equipping a laboratory to produce sodium hypochlorite solution used to sterilize water networks.
The project is scheduled to last for 45 days, ensuring the plant’s full restart and improving the efficiency and stability of the water supply in the area.
