Rehabilitation of Kasra water stations in the Deir Ezzor countryside to enhance service reliability

The workshops of the General Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater have begun the rehabilitation of raw and clear water stations in the city of Al-Kasra in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, in cooperation with ACTED, with the aim of improving the efficiency of drinking water production and enhancing the reliability of the service provided to the residents.

Rehabilitation work at the clear water pumping station includes the construction of a ground tank with a capacity of 420 cubic metres, in addition to replacing the clear pumping group, installing a chlorination and sterilization system, replacing the filter elements and sand, as well as rehabilitating the high tank and connecting it to the network, and preparing rooms designated for employees.

At the raw water pumping station, work continues to replace the pumping group and raise its capacity to 150 horsepower, which contributes to increasing the abundance to about 200 cubic meters per hour, in addition to replacing the intake filters with the aim of raising operating efficiency and improving the station’s performance.

These works, once completed, will support the drinking water system in Al-Kasra city and improve its ability to meet the needs of the residents in a more stable and efficient manner.
