The Raqqa Electricity Company received 8 electrical transformers with a capacity of 630 KVA, with funding from the German government through the German Development Bank KfW, and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, in a step aimed at enhancing the reality of electricity and improving current stability within a number of residential neighborhoods in the city of Raqqa.
The company confirmed that the new transformers will be put into service within new electrical conversion centers, including: the amusement park center (number 2), the Muawiyah center, the Hawari center, and the Al-Wasl center, located in Al-Ta’meenat , Al-Twasoayeh, and Muawiyah neighborhoods, which have suffered from power outages for more than 9 years.
The company explained that these centers will be put into service after completing the preparation of their low-voltage networks, which will contribute to improving the conditions of electrical supply for the people.
The new transformers are expected to contribute to supplying about 4,000 residential homes, in addition to relieving pressure on existing conversion centers, addressing the problem of voltage drops, and improving the stability of electrical current in the area during the near future.
