Today, Iran deployed military reinforcements from Al-Bukamal to the southern desert in Deir Ezzor (the Harisha, Kabashib and Shulah) in order to support Iraqi militias.

In the same context, the Badr Brigade, Nujabaa and Iraqi Hezbollah established new joint positions with the Russian forces in order to secure the Damascus/Deir Ezzor road against Daesh attacks. On the other hand, the 17th Division and the Quds Brigade positions are still located at forward areas in the desert.
