Seven people were killed and 16 others injured this afternoon in a traffic accident between a Pullman passenger bus and an Inter-Class truck near the Kabajib area south of Deir Ezzor city, according to a DeirEzzor24 correspondent.
Medical sources from the National Hospital in Deir Ezzor confirmed that the death toll is likely to rise due to the number of critical cases arriving as a result of the horrific accident.
Malak, a young woman who was among the bus passengers, told DeirEzzor24 that the accident occurred between an Inter-Class truck and a Pullman passenger bus. The truck, which was loaded with heavy cargo, caused the wheel to come loose and collide with the bus, causing the bus to veer off the road and causing serious injury.
Medical sources confirmed to DeirEzzor24 the deaths of the truck owner and his companion, as well as the deaths of the bus driver and a woman in her twenties, and three other deaths.
Notably, some of the injured are still in the hospital, including Dr. Nour Aghi, her husband, Dr. Musab Al-Sheikh, and their child. The child is healthy, the doctor suffered bruises, and the doctor will be transferred to Damascus due to his critical condition.
