Owners of industrial and car repair shops in the industrial zone of Deir Ezzor city are struggling with difficulties and challenges due to the poor condition of the roads inside the area, according to observations by DeirEzzor24 Network.
The shop owners have appealed to the relevant authorities in Deir Ezzor Governorate to pave the main and side streets of the area before the winter season arrives, as rain causes puddles of water and mud that hinder their car repair work.
Shop owners confirmed that customers who enter the industrial zone to have their cars serviced fear their vehicles might break down while leaving because of the severely deteriorated roads.
Jamal Al-Ali, the owner of a car repair shop, added that he has started moving his shop from the industrial area to the Street of the Prison in the Al-Joura neighborhood, because the roads there are paved and it is easier for customers to reach.
It is noted that the industrial zone needs a comprehensive asphalting project, which should be a top priority, since the area represents the city’s industrial lifeline hosting metal workshops, car repair shops, and spare parts warehouses.
