A private source told the DeirEzzor24 network that Fadi Al-Afees was not arrested in the “paper factory” case as was reported two days ago, as he managed to disappear and has been out of sight ever since.
The source added that four officers from the Republican Guard were arrested for participating in stealing the contents of the paper mill in the town of Al-Husseiniyah, west of Deir Ezzor, and cutting the mill’s iron into two trucks, one of which was confiscated.
It was prepared for sale to the Fourth Division, while others confirmed that the iron was transported to the iron smelting plant in the Mu’izila area, which is under SDF control.
Assad’s forces summoned the commander of the Republican Guard in the city of Deir Ezzor to Damascus, to investigate him in the paper mill case after it became public.
