Deir Ezzor City Council issued a resolution requiring all owners of mobile phone stores to install surveillance cameras in front of their shops, as part of efforts to enhance security and protect public and private property.
The Council set a time limit of 45 days to implement the resolution, with a special focus on shops located within the area extending from Clock Roundabout to Hammod Al-Abd Roundabout, as it is one of the most vital areas in the city.
The council called on shop owners to visit its headquarters and register to prove their compliance with the issued instructions, stressing that violators will be subject to legal procedures that may lead to the permanent closure of their shops.
The competent authorities also clarified a set of technical standards that must be available in surveillance systems, most notably ensuring coverage of all important angles, and linking cameras to the Internet, which enables remote monitoring and enhances the speed of response to incidents.
