Mahad conducted a field visit to the National Hospital in Deir ez-Zor on April 8, 2025, as part of its efforts to support the health sector in areas suffering from a lack of services, according to a DeirEzzzor24 network.

Our reporter said that the visit aimed to assess the general conditions inside the hospital, with a particular focus on the surgical operations department, to identify its most important needs and the challenges facing the medical staff in providing healthcare.

He noted that the organization’s team was accompanied during the visit by the hospital administration and a representative from the Deir ez-Zor Health Directorate. They conducted a comprehensive tour of the various departments, where they observed major problems in the operating room, most notably a severe shortage of basic medical equipment, along with the deterioration of existing equipment, most of which is out of service. This negatively impacts the quality of services provided to patients.

In response, Mahad prepared a detailed field assessment of the department’s needs, in preparation for providing the necessary support by supplying the hospital with appropriate equipment. This will enhance the efficiency of surgical operations and enhance the level of care under the required health standards.

According to a correspondent for Dei Ezzor24 Network, Mahad has been active in Deir Ezzor Governorate for years. It oversees a blood bank center in the Al-Kasra district in the western Deir Ezzor countryside, in addition to another center in the city of Hajin, located in the far eastern countryside of the governorate. The center provides free services to thalassemia patients.

This visit is part of a comprehensive plan implemented by the organization to support health facilities in the governorate and improve medical infrastructure. This will contribute to strengthening the local health system and providing sustainable health services to the population.
