شهدت محافظة ديرالزور ارتفاعاً في أسعار مواد البناء جراء هيمنة أشخاص ذوي صلة بالقيادات على تجارة مواد البناء وفرض الفرقة الرابعة رسوماً جمركية على المواد، ما يضطر الأهالي للجوء للمساكن العشوائية والتي تفتقر إلى أدنى مقومات الحياة.

وسجل سعر طن الحديد 3 ملايين ليرة سورية، فيما وصلت تكلفة المتر المربع من المجبول الإسمنتي لـ200 ألف ليرة، ووصلت تكلفة المتر المربع من البناء على الهيكل إلى 600 ألف ليرة، ما يجعل عملية إعادة الإعمار والترميم مستحيلة في ظل الغلاء الفاحش وندرة فرص العمل.
