The people of Al-Bukamal in eastern Deir Ezzor complain about increasing prices of amperage in recent days amidst calls for tightening the measures against such a violation, according to a reporter of the DeirEzzor24 network.
Our reporter said that the price of an ampere is estimated at 25000 SYP for home subscriptions and 30000 for commercial one in al-Bukamal city amidst calls for decreasing it.
Abdullah al-Ahmad, a resident of Albukamal, confirmed that their demand for price reductions and oversight comes after the improvement and increase in electricity supply hours in the city, which has led to a decrease in generator operating hours, which should be reflected in lower prices.
He added that the number of hours amperes are used for residential use does not exceed five hours per day, while the operating hours for commercial subscriptions in the markets reach nine hours per day.
Residents demanded that the region’s administration impose a fixed price on generator owners and tighten controls over them, as subscribers were not compensated for increased operating hours after electricity supplies improved. Instead, prices were raised, not lowered.
