DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:

The correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network said that the checkpoint of the Fourth Division at the junction of the town of Al-Mari’iya, east of Deir Ezzor, extorts the farmers of the third sector who transport manure to their fields.

Our correspondent added that the checkpoint personnel obstruct the movement of farmers under the pretext of not bringing the receipts of the Agricultural Bank and agricultural associations, with the aim of forcing them to pay bribes.

He pointed out that farmers are forced to pay sums exceeding 10 thousand Syrian pounds for each farmer to the checkpoint personnel.

Other checkpoints affiliated with the Military Security and the Republican Guard also impose royalties on farmers, but in lesser amounts than those imposed by the Fourth Division.
