DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
The 17th Infantry Division of al-Assad forces entered the field of smuggling by involving its members in protecting the crossings of the Fourth Division at one of the river crossings in Deir Ezzor, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 network.
Our correspondent said that the 17th Infantry Division involved its members in protecting a river crossing during which oil smuggling operations belonging to the Fourth Division take place, linking the town of Al-Junaina, which is under the control of the SDF in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, with Al-Baghilia, which is controlled by Assad’s forces, west of the city of Deir Ezzor.
He added that the members of the 17th Division are deployed around the Al-Baghilia water station, in addition to the tasks of withdrawing the plastic barrels that take place through boats and unloading them into tanks transporting oil and its derivatives, in return for a small percentage, the proceeds of which go to the leadership of the division in Deir Ezzor.
The Fourth Division controls some river crossings in Deir Ezzor, and uses them in smuggling operations between Assad regime-controlled areas and SDF-controlled areas, especially fuel.
