The city of Al-Quriya, located to the east of Deir Ezzor, continues to face an escalating danger due to the spread of war remnants, including unexploded ordnance and weapons, particularly in areas near former militia bases.
These remnants pose a constant threat to civilians’ lives, especially children, in the absence of any organized campaigns to remove them or even to warn residents of the dangers they pose.
Local residents have expressed growing concern over the increasing spread of landmines and unexploded ordnance in various parts of the city, emphasizing that the danger has been magnified with the return of displaced people to their homes despite the rising toll of casualties.
These remnants vary between cluster bombs, used by the Syrian regime and Russian forces, in addition to mortar shells and hand grenades, making the lives of the residents constantly at risk.
