Schools in Al-Shaitat area in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside have recently been looted and vandalized systematically in the three towns of Abu Hamam, Al-Kashkiyah and Granij.

The most recent of these operations, according to local sources, occurred last night, when several schools in Granij town were looted, and the contents that are difficult to be carried out were vandalized.

According to the sources, the perpetrators are still unknown, but the repeated operations caused a state of discontent and anger among the people, as they saw these operations as attempts to disrupt the progress of the educational process, which has already been suffering from the difficult conditions in the eastern Euphrates areas of Deir Ezzor.

It is worth mentioning that the schools in Deir Ezzor countryside (east of the Euphrates) have been closed for nearly two months, due to the measures taken by the autonomous administration in northeastern Syria to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
