Deir Ezzor exxclusive report:
Today, locals held protests near the Salhiyah crossing, north of Deir Ezzor, to condemn the entry of Russian forces from near the crossing.
The protesters demanded that the SDF close the crossing immediately and permanently, to prevent the entry of Russian forces and their militias, which pave the way for Assad’s forces to enter the area, and to make settlements, similar to what happened in Daraa governorate recently.
In this context, the demonstrators called on the international coalition and the SDF not to facilitate the pass of the Russian patrols and their crossing to their areas under any pretext, considering this a violation, as the people of the region absolutely refuse to return their areas to Assad’s control, and consider him to have no legitimacy and call for his overthrow.
The demonstrators raised banners bearing the slogans “People of reconciliation to the dumps”, “We will not bargain for the blood of our martyrs”, “No negotiation with those who kill children”, repeating the slogans of the first revolution, “Freedom… Freedom” and “We will restore its first course… Revolution until victory.” “.
Over the course of two consecutive weeks, the protests refuse the entry of the Russian patrols. Their attack and response by the people did not stop to the extent of clashes and exchange of fire between the two parties, which led to the intervention of a patrol of the international coalition to try to reduce the escalation and mitigate its repercussions, but the people remain on their position.
