The women’s market “Baraka Market” was opened in Deir Ezzor, a city with an initiative aimed at supporting small businesses and empowering women who support their families economically. The initiative aims to provide fixed points of sale that allow them to display and market their products, helping to secure a sustainable source of income and improve the living conditions of their families.

The market was opened by the Director of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, Muhannad Al-Henaidi, in a move that reflects the importance of supporting local productive initiatives and enhancing the role of women in community development, especially in light of the economic and living challenges faced by many families.

The project allows women to benefit from a marketing space that helps them market their products, reach consumers, develop their small businesses, and transform their production skills into economic opportunities that contribute to enhancing their financial independence.

The project was implemented with the support of the organization «Oxfam», and with the participation of family planning associations, the Syrian Association for Social Development, «Youth Solidarity», and “Mar Afram”

“Baraka Market” represents a step towards enhancing the economic and social empowerment of women in Deir Ezzor, and consolidating the role of small projects in supporting families and revitalizing the local economy.

The sustainability of this project remains linked to its ability to provide an active marketing environment, attract customers, and continue supporting participating women, in addition to working to develop their production and marketing skills and open new horizons for their products.

“Baraka Market” is not just a place to sell products, but a space that carries a social and developmental dimension, and gives female breadwinners the opportunity to transform their efforts and skills into a source of livelihood, in a step that confirms that women’s economic empowerment constitutes a fundamental pillar in building a society more capable of recovery and stability.

Investing in women’s capabilities not only impacts their families’ lives, but also extends to the entire local community, by stimulating production, supporting small initiatives, and fostering a culture of self-reliance.
