Residents of the Basateen area in Deir Ezzor appeal to the concerned authorities to treat the water leak for fear of damaging homes

Residents of the Basateen area, opposite Badr Housing behind Ghazi Ayyash, are appealing to the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to address the problem of the flood of water in basements and lands, amid fears that the foundations of homes will be damaged and cracked as a result of the ongoing problem.

According to residents, the problem is due to a leak suspected to have been caused by the Water Corporation’s tanks. Despite previous inspections of the site and promises to find radical solutions, the problem continues to this day, amid disagreements over the actual source of the water.

Residents are demanding that the Water Directorate and the relevant authorities conduct a technical investigation to determine the source of the leak and address it urgently, to avoid potential damage and ensure the safety of residents and their homes.
