The Raqqa Health Directorate announced the closure of ten violating medical laboratories and sealing them with red wax, as part of inspection tours carried out in cooperation with the Laboratories Authority, with the aim of following up on compliance with the regulations and laws regulating laboratory work.

The Directorate stated that the recorded violations included working without regular licenses and the absence of a specialist doctor to supervise the progress of work, stressing that the measures come in the context of strengthening oversight of health institutions and ensuring their compliance with approved standards.

The Raqqa Health Directorate, represented by the Drug Control Directorate, had previously carried out a large-scale inspection campaign that included the city of Raqqa and its countryside, as part of its efforts to enhance control over pharmaceutical facilities and ensure compliance with approved legal and health controls.

The campaign resulted in the organization of more than 200 legal seizures against violating establishments, and the closure of more than 20 unlicensed pharmacies run by unqualified persons, in addition to monitoring violations in a number of pharmacies, represented by the absence of the responsible pharmacist and failure to adhere to technical and health conditions related to the preservation and storage of medicines, in a way that guarantees their safety and quality and preserves the health of citizens.
