The Ministry of Economy and Industry announced the start of receiving subscription applications for industrial divisions in Deir Ezzor Industrial City, starting Sunday, October 11, at the temporary headquarters of the city administration, located in the Al-Omran Foundation building on Bour Sa’ied Street, in a step aimed at stimulating investment and reviving the industrial sector in the governorate.

The Director of the Industrial City, Samir Al-Hayyo, explained that the first phase of the project includes developing the infrastructure on an area of 200 hectares, and securing more than 140 hectares of industrial subdivisions designated for investment, at incentive prices of $25 per square meter upon cash payment, and $32 per square meter upon installments over five years, with a down payment equivalent to 5% of the total value of the subdivision.

Al-Hayyo pointed out that the upcoming plans include allocating an area of 100 hectares to a company specialized in oil, gas and energy services, which will contribute to supporting activities related to these sectors and enhancing investment opportunities in the region.

The reactivation of the industrial city comes within the framework of efforts aimed at increasing industrial production, attracting local and foreign investments, providing direct and indirect job opportunities, as well as stimulating commercial activity and the transportation sector in Deir Ezzor Governorate.

In a related context, infrastructure preparation work continues, including roads, water, electricity and sewage networks, in parallel with the rehabilitation work of the bridge linking the industrial city and its surroundings in the governorate, with the aim of improving access to industrial facilities and facilitating the movement of materials and goods.

The total area of the industrial city in Deir Ezzor is about 1,260 hectares, and it was subjected to extensive damage during the rule of the defunct regime, which led to the cessation of a number of production lines and the decline of industrial activity, which makes its rehabilitation and activation an important step towards restoring its economic and productive role in the governorate.
